FUTURE EVENTS
Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike to the New River Gorge/Fayetteville area at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Meet to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is 4-5 miles, and the Long Pont area is level with moderate grades and some rocky footing. For information, call 304-343-3779.
Engel Chapel Community Church of Gassaway will sponsor the second annual Hospice Care Corporation Christian Motorcycle Rally on June 6 at Kenton Meadows Field in Gassaway. Registration is from 8 to 10 a.m. The cost to participate is $20 for driver, $5 for rider (covers ride fee, dinner and concert following ride). The first 70 to register receive a T-shirt. The route stops in Arnoldsburg, Cedar Creek State Park and Burnsville, then returns at 4 p.m. to Kenton Meadows Field, followed by dinner and gospel/bluegrass concert from area musicians, where non-riders are welcome. Donations are appreciated. The proceeds benefit Hospice Care Corporation. No alcohol or drugs. For details, call 304-517-8868 or 304-644-9392.
YMCA Camp Horseshoe in Parsons will offer several summer camps for children. Horseshoe camps are interactive, hands-on and fun with a purpose. Teen camps include the Entrepreneurship Summit, June 7-13; a high school Leadership Summit on June 14-20, and a middle school Leadership Summit on June 21-27. Teens will return home with skills to improve their schools and community. Camps for boys and girls ages 7-12 include Adventure Camp June 28-July 4 and the Governor's Youth Opportunity Camps July 5-11, July 12-18 and June 19-25.
