In this corner: What's up in the May sky?
Advertiser

Go out and get your eyes on the skies!  Bill Rouse, manager of the Clay Center's Electricsky Theater, gives these tips for stargazing in May.

Saturday is Astronomy Day. All across America, schools, local astronomy clubs and planetariums will be hosting activities around this day.

May 6 is a great night to see Spica. At nightfall, this star will be close to the moon on the left. Just follow the curve of the Big Dipper's handle, stop at Arcturus, and then spike to Spica to find it.

If you want to know more, drop by the Electricsky Theater for a planetarium show. Show times are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and noon and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia, One Clay Square, Charleston; www.theclaycenter.org, 304-561-3570.
