Charleston woman charged in Social Secutiry fraud

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Charleston woman has been charged in federal court with Social Security fraud, the Social Security Administration's Charleston office announced Friday.
Jessica Minter was allegedly collecting benefits from the agency for her children while they were in the custody of the state Department of Health and Human Resources, the news release states. Minter, who has been indicted on charges of making a false statement and failing to disclose with the intent to defraud, collected $21,405 in benefits, according to the release.
Minter was arrested on April 15 and arraigned by U.S. Magistrate Judge Mary E. Stanley, who scheduled her trial for June 15, the release states.
