CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- State and federal flags across West Virginia will be lowered in honor of a soldier who died while stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.

Gov. Joe Manchin has ordered flags to fly at half-staff Friday in honor of 25-year-old Private First Class Tyler Bonnell Stout of Kearneysville.

Manchin's office says Stout died last Friday.

Fort Leonard Wood spokesman Mike Alley says the soldier was participating in physical activities and went down. The cause of death hasn't been determined.

Services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at the Brown Funeral Home's South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Stout was assigned to B Company of the 795th Military Police Battalion.
