Funeral Friday for W.Va. serviceman
INWOOD - Funeral services are scheduled Friday for a West Virginia serviceman who died while stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Gov. Joe Manchin's office says 25-year-old Pfc. Tyler Bonnell Stout of Kearneysville died last Friday. He was assigned to B Company of the 795th Military Police Battalion.
Fort Leonard Wood spokesman Mike Alley says the soldier was participating in physical activities and went down. The cause of death has not been determined.
Services are planned for 11 a.m. Friday at the Brown Funeral Home's South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Fayette man killed in Eccles accident
ECCLES - A Fayette County man died in a car accident Wednesday morning after veering off the road and striking a tree in Raleigh County.
The 38-year-old male from Oak Hill was driving a 1991 Ford Escort east on W.Va. 3 in Eccles around 10:40 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle.
The car went off the right side of the roadway, over an embankment and struck a tree, according to the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department.

The man died at the scene and was the only passenger in the vehicle.
No further information about the man's identity was available Wednesday.
WVU gives free concert for Morgantown
MORGANTOWN - To celebrate turning 40, the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center is throwing a free concert for the Morgantown community.
The event is set for Saturday afternoon at the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre, on the 40th anniversary of the day the building was dedicated.
Dean Bernie Schultz says no tickets of any kind are required.
The event will feature music by professor James Miltenberger, the WVU Percussion Ensemble and the WVU African Music and Dance Ensemble. Dance students will perform choreography and violin students will play. Artwork by faculty and students will be on display, as well.
