Kanawha County Public Library system is celebrating National Library Week from Sunday through April 18 by offering amnesty on any overdue materials returned during that week. Patrons may return overdue items to any Kanawha County Public Library location and no fines will be charged for the returned items. Overdue fines will also be waived for overdue books deposited in the book return during this week. Audiovisual materials may be left in book returns at most branches. Please check with a staff member for more information.
The Libby-Owens-Ford Glass Co. Retirees will meet at 11 a.m. Monday for a Dutch lunch at Shoney's, Kanawha City. Retirees, family and friends are welcome. For information, call David Radford at 304-595-1090.
The Chelyan Public Service District Board Members will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the district office of the treatment facility, located on W.Va. 61, Chelyan, to discuss and correct the O&M agreement between the town of Pratt and Chelyan Public Service District.
Kanawha County Democratic Executive Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the courtroom of Judge Charlie King, fourth floor of the Judicial Annex building. For questions, call Chairman Norris T. Light at 304-595-1769.
Metro 911 Communications Center will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday honoring telecommunicators as part of Public Safety Telecommunications Week. Tours of the Ned Chilton 911 Center will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a cookout lunch will be available for guests beginning noon at the center, located at 200 Peyton Way in Southridge Business Park along Corridor G.
