  • Mountain State Convention Region 3 Women's Health Fair will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 205 Donnally St. There is no charge. A lunch will be available.   • St. Timothy Lutheran Church Youth Group will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and silent auction from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The more than 200 items feature Cabin Creek Quilts wall hangings, Longaberger Baskets, Boyds Bears, Thomas Kincaid collectibles, Mongoose mountain bike, Coach, Vera Bradley, Norman Rockwell, Trail Rider adult 3-wheeler bike, jewelry and more. All proceeds benefit the youth group's inner-city mission trip 2009. Final bids will be taken at 6 p.m.
  • Church of God in Christ of Charleston, Seventh Avenue, will offer a men's clinic Wednesday through March 28 at the church. Seminars will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday. There will be an evening service Wednesday through Friday. A prayer breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. March 28, which is included in the $15 registration. The clinic addresses the following questions: "Do you know why you cannot articulate what is wrong in your life?"; "Do you know who you are as a man?"; "Do you know when you are abused?"; "Do you know how you are abused?"; and "Can you express what you need to survive as a man?" Speakers include Dr. Earl Jones, Pastor Bobby Thomas, Bishop Melvin Mosley, Bishop Jeffery Reed, Pastor Donald Conner and Elder Derrick Gibson.   • The Bride of Christ will have a noon luncheon following the 11 a.m. Sunday service at the church, located on Brook Road off Chestnut Road. The Blessings will sing at 1 p.m.
  • New Destiny Cathedral Youth and Music and the Arts Dept. will host the "Praise in the Valley" college student and young adult conference Friday through March 29. A Kingdom Krunk concert will be featured on Friday with various artists. Workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 28. Speakers include J. David Stockton III, Pastor Brian Bausley, Pastor Gary Brydie, the Rev. Donte Jackson and more. The program will begin at 7 p.m. on March 28 with national recording artist Minister Jonathan Dunn of Ohio. An open coffee house will be held from 10 a.m. to midnight, featuring spoken word, music and more. Morning Glory worship on March 29 begins at noon with J. David Stockton III as speaker. The conference will climax with the evening service at 4 p.m. on March 29 with a performance by the Praise in the Valley Workshop Choir, under the direction of Minister Jonathan Dunn of Ohio.   • Open stage for kids, ages 5-15, will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Unity of Kanawha Valley. The event is hosted by Ron Sowell and Sky Kershner. Bring whatever talent you would like to share: playing an instrument, singing, reading, dancing, talking, telling a joke, showing a piece of art, magic or just talking into a microphone. Silly songs are welcome. Sign-up begins at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge. Kids, parents and grandparents of all ages are welcome.
  • Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, 1343 Lewis St., will have a women's conference Friday through March 29 at the church. Speakers include: 7 p.m. Friday, Pastor Darin Freeman, Metropolitan Baptist Church; 10 a.m., March 28, Minister Carolyn Wesley of Central Community Tabernacle, first lady Ruby Welch of Westside Church of the Nazarene and Evangelist Wanda Mann with Women with a Purpose; 6 p.m. on March 29, Pastor, Dr. Lloyd A.   • St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4606 Kanawha Turnpike, South Charleston, will hold at estate sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 28 at the church. Lots of furniture, washer/dryer, curio cabinet, kitchenware, collectibles and more will be available.
  • First Baptist Church of Hurricane will present "May We Never Lose the Wonder" at 2 and 6:30 p.m. April 5 at the church, 2635 Main St. The musical, which includes the Celebration Choir and Orchestra, is about the importance of remembering. On the eve of His trial and execution, Jesus made it clear that we were to remember Him and His sacrifice. He instituted the ordinance of the Last Supper to be a central part of the Christian faith - a time to gather as His body and remember. May we never lose the wonder - "The Wonder of the Cross."
  • Power House of Deliverance Church, 512 Carver St., Dunbar, will have Show Me Your Glory Conference '09: "Sign and Wonders," Thursday through March 28. Speakers are 7 p.m. Thursday, Pastor Bruce Hogan of Rimson Memorial Church of God in Christ; 7 p.m. Friday, Bishop Frederick Hightower of All Nations Revival Cener; and 9:30 a.m., March 28, Elder Brenda Camp of Temple of Faith, Elder Tina Mills of Greater Emmanuel Gospel Tabernacle, Terry Davenport and Elder Elaine Mosley of Power House of Deliverance. The conference is open to the public and there is no registration fee.
  • Freedom Baptist Church will prevent a free movie night featuring "Fireproof" from 6 to 8 p.m. April 1 at the church, 6602 Roosevelt Ave. From Interstate 77, exit 95, turn right onto MacCorkle Ave. E. Pass Kmart and turn left onto 66th Street. The church is located at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and 66th Street. For information, call 304-590-0222.
  • Ruffner Memorial Presbyterian Church will join other Charleston area Presbyterian Churches at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Village Chapel Presbyterian Church, 38th Street and Venable Avenue, Kanawha City, to welcome Dr. Leon Mubikayi and Elder Bernard Kabibu of Congo. Dr. Mubikayi is the medical director of a major teaching and medical facility in central Congo. Elder Kabibu is the hospital administrator of the Good Shepherd Hospital. The men have been traveling since Feb. 2 across the country to tell about their healing ministry among the Congolese people. An authentic African meal will be served at Village Chapel Presbyterian Church. Other community churches and all interested in the medical mission work are invited. The cost of the evening is $5.

  • Rhonda Pauley will sing at 7 p.m. Sunday at Greenview Freewill Baptist Church in Madison. She will also sing at 7 p.m. March 29 at Goshen Baptist Church Kentuck.
  • Courtney Perry and 96.1 Sunday Gospel Sunrise Host Randy Gifford will sing and minister at 7 p.m. Sunday at Tony's Branch Freewill Baptist Church, Boone County.
  • A benefit gospel sing will be held at 2 p.m. March 28 at Shiloah Independent Baptist Church, Steel Ridge Rod. The Believers, Joyful Noise and the Lone Oak Boys will perform. Proceeds will help Wanda Smith, whose home was destroyed by a fire in January. Food and drinks will be sold in the church activity building. Grandview Baptist Church and Cross Creek Church will also help with the sing.
  • Mount Olivet Baptist Music Convention will not be in session on March 28 and 29.
  • Dale Harper will sing at 7 p.m. today at Sunlight Baptist Church, Island Branch, Sissonville.
  • Miller Family Plus will be singing at 7 p.m. Sunday at Meadowbrook Freewill Baptist Church located on W.Va. 114 North.
