Kanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Coonskin Clubhouse Oak Room, Coonskin Park. The agenda is available at the park office. For information, call 304-341-8000.
The Alzheimer's Association, West Virginia Chapter, will present a brown-bag lunch presentation "Options for Care and How to Make Those Decisions" at noon on Wednesday at the Alzheimer's Association's office, 1111 Lee St. E. The workshop is part of a series of workshops presented the third Wednesday of every month for family and professional caregivers. This month's topic will cover how to plan for future care needs, what are the options and how to access available resources. The Housing Authority of the city of South Charleston Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Administrative Office building conference room, 520 Goshorn St., South Charleston.
Big Ugly Community Center will host a stream testing training from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday at the Center, 587 Rosewood Road, Harts. The event is free and open to all.
West Virginia Institute for Spirituality will conduct a Lenten Silent, Directed Retreat from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and resume at 8 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. at 1601 Virginia St. E. An offering of $75 is requested for overnight guest and $50 for commuters. Call 304-345-0926.
