HARTS - A Lincoln County woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her sister Friday night.
State Police responded to a stabbing complaint in Harts shortly after 8 p.m. and found Delenda Ortiz, 30, of Harts, unresponsive and bleeding from a knife wound, according to State Police.
The stabbing occurred at the home of Dwayne Mullins, 48, of Harts. Mullins was at the scene and told officers that the victim's sister, Rebecca Adams, 41, of Harts, stabbed her and left the scene, according to police.
Mullins was arrested for obstructing officers in the performance of their duties because he was "verbally being a nuisance," said State Police Sgt. Michael Baylous.
He was then charged with fleeing on foot in addition to domestic assault and domestic battery.
Sgt. B.E. Guthrie, Senior Trooper M. L. Vance and Trooper J.K. Harris found Adams at another residence later that evening.
As officers were trying to arrest Adams, she pulled out a knife and cut the forearm sleeve of Vance's uniform, according to police.
Vance was not seriously injured.
Adams was charged with two counts of malicious wounding and one count of unlawful assault on a police officer.
Health Net helicopter transported Ortiz to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington. She was discharged from the hospital on Sunday.
