The Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the South Charleston Public Library. Wendell Argabrite will present a program titled "Waterfowl of West Virginia." Rho Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Linda Eggleton. Dreamma Guinn will present the program.

Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will meet from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at 911 Michael Ave.
Read Aloud West Virginia will offer three orientation sessions for Read Aloud volunteers in a school or other setting on Feb. 26 at the Columbia Gas building, 1700 MacCorkle Ave. Sessions will be offered at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the River Room. Sessions last between 60 and 90 minutes. For information, call 304-345-5212 or visit readaloudwestvirginia.org.
Special Olympics West Virginia, Kanawha County will have its fourth annual Bowl-a-thon at 12:30 p.m. March 7 at Towne 'N Country Lanes in Nitro. Registration begins at 11:45 a.m. To register, call 304-415-4974 or e-mail sobowlat...@yahoo.com. Space is limited. Bowlers are asked to raise a minimum of $100 in pledges and each bowler will receive a Special Olympics T-shirt, a rental pair of bowling shoes, three games of bowling and will be qualified to win prizes.
West Virginia State Community and Technical College in Institute will offer a class titled "Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People," from 6 to 9:30 p.m. March 11. Students should be able to learn all the chords needed to play any pop song - any style, any key - as they read chord symbols, not notes. Students who do not know treble can send a self-addressed stamped envelope for a free pamphlet to Music Masters, 90 Molly Lane, Ringgold, GA 30736. To register, call 304-766-3251.
