Single father and four children need clothing, household items

Carl, age 40, is a single father who lives in a small apartment with his four children. One night last November, while the family was sleeping, Carl's wife left. Her note said she'd met someone else. They haven't heard from her since.

Carl works as a mechanic, making about $1,300 per month. After his wife left, he and the children had to move into a smaller, less expensive apartment. Carl is a hard worker and a loving father, and he only wants what's best for his children. To earn extra money, he mows lawns and cleans out basements. And now, there's another mouth to feed. His 15-year-old daughter recently gave birth to a son.

Carl and his family are in need of household items such as bed linens, towels, pots and pans, dishes, etc. He also needs winter clothing for his children and grandson.

The 15-year-old daughter wears size medium shirts, size 9 pants, and size 7 shoes.

The 10-year-old daughter wears children's size 12 shirts and pants and size 4 1/2 adult shoes.

The 9-year-old son wears size 9/10 shirts and pants and size 3 shoes.

The 6-year-old son wears size 6/7 shirts and pants and size 2 shoes.

And the baby boy wears size 3-6 months clothes.

Monetary donations to Carl and his children can be made through the Gazette Charities Christmas Fund, 1001 Virginia St. E. Charleston, WV  25301. Credit card donations can be made online at wvgazette.com/ChristmasCharities.

To make clothing, household or furniture donations for this family, contact Scott Foley at the Children's Home Society at 345-3894.

My, My, My, jes, we are suspicious, huh? You are thinking "shouldn't someone look further into this little mystery"-the wife takes off with another and hasn't been seen or heard of since, how convenient.I wonder what her family is thinking or if they help him? Maybe they know where she is,who knows....the point is: the children-they need help. I do commend the father in trying to keep his family together...my children's father only sees them once a year-Christmas-but as long as he can sleep at night, huh? He is a father to his 2 children with his present wife, but not to the other 4 children(2 with me). I agree with scottsjeep2000, money isn't everything-its the love and comfort of your family....

A woman taking off with someone else doesn't make any sense? It happens all the time.

Things that make you go "Hmmmmmm.". I'm always a suspsicious person, because that really makes no sense to me. It's a no win situation either way you look at it. Those poor kids.

If you would have read the article smarbap it said the mother left. And just because he only makes 1300 a month doesn't mean he is any less of a father than some rich people. I for one commend him for what he is doing. I could say that the familly has more happyness and values than a family that is given everything on a silver plater. Money is nothing.
