The woman accused of killing her 4-month-old infant daughter in Nicholas county admitted to abusing the child since birth, according to a criminal complaint filed in Nicholas County Magistrate Court.

Ashley Nicole Hanna, 21 of Mount Nebo, told West Virginia State Police she hit her daughter, Cambria Mae Lawrence, when she became enraged because the baby was crying. She also admitted to grabbing the baby and squeezing hard enough to cause bruising.

Hannah told police that on Friday she hit the baby on the face hard enough to cause swelling, according to the complaint.

On Saturday, the infant was sitting on the couch and started to cry. Hanna placed her on the couch in a corner, propped up by a pillow. The baby continued crying and Hanna jerked her off the couch, causing the infant's head to snap back violently.

Hanna took the baby and placed her in a crib. The father, who is not named in the criminal complaint, then took the baby and placed it in the bed. He then went to sleep in the living room with the baby still crying.

When the father woke up, he found his daughter blue and cold to the touch, according to the complaint.

The father attempted CPR and an ambulance was called.

Hanna also told police she knew striking the infant and abusing her was wrong, but she did it anyway, according to the complaint.

I knew this lil angel, she was very beautiful. She had giraffe-like eyes(big with long lashes)that you would melt over. My best friend and neighbor took care of her a lot and even wanted her for her own. The mother was aware of this, but was too selfish and evil to give her up. This little girl meant the world to my friend and her husband and we are all so confused of how this could happen. But I have no doubt that that she is now in heaven looking down over my friend and her husband because they were the light in her life, and they brought this little one more love in 4 months than anyone could give in a lifetime. I pray for them and I ask others to do the same.

The only birth control paid for by tax dollars this women deserves is euthenasia (and that ain't no oriental support group for young people). If you want her "fixed" use a steel jacketed hollow point. That ought todo it.

And the sins of the father do pass down to their children. Abuse cycles in families until something breaks that chain of destruction. Too sad the baby's Daddy didn't do something to help save his child. Aw heck, all babies cry. But when a momma doesn't have it in her to feel that bond with her child, you gotta wonder what went wrong?
