CRAB ORCHARD - A woman died in Raleigh County on Saturday when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a truck.

The Raleigh County Sheriff's Department said Veronica Howerton was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on W.Va. 16 at about 10:15 a.m. when her motorcycle and a truck collided. Howerton, 54, of Midway, died at the scene.

Donnie Price, 54, of Midway, was driving a GMC Sierra truck, and he was traveling south on W.Va. 16. He entered the center lane to turn "left onto Fearn Street and crashed into Howerton as she was going through the traffic light," according to Cpl. W. J. Crist of the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department.

Cpl. T. L. Miles, Cpl. W. J. Crist and Deputy J.L. Redden are investigating.
