Before that, though, he'll stop in West Virginia. That's right, KJ-52, whose latest album, "The Yearbook," has sold more than half a million copies, is coming to the Charleston area this Friday!
The concert, part of the "Cross the Line Tour," is at 7 p.m. Friday at the Nitro Community Center. (Doors open at 6 p.m.) Also appearing are Superchick, Disciple, Britt Nicole and Starlit Platoon.
Superchick is the show's headliner. The band has received great attention from both Christian and mainstream audiences, and its music has appeared in many TV shows and movies, including "Legally Blonde."
Other bands include Disciple, a Christian metal group whose song "After the World" was the eighth most played song on Christian radio stations in 2007; Britt Nicole, a pop rock singer whose song "Sunshine Girl" was featured on the MTV reality show "Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County"; and Starlit Platoon, an alternative band that's the side project of Superchick drummer Brandon Estelle.
KJ-52 has performed all across the world and at some of the largest festivals worldwide. He's known to get the crowd hyped up, give them a great time and leave them with something they won't forget.
One of his most famous songs, "Dear Slim" (an open letter to rapper Eminem), has touched countless lives, including my own. It was this song that opened my eyes and started me on my journey to God.
Whether you like rap, rock or pop, this concert will definitely appeal to you with its mix of artists and genres. You do not want to miss it!
Tickets for the concert are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. They can be purchased online at itickets.com or by calling (800) 965-9324.
For $8 more, you can get the VIP ticket, which includes a laminated VIP pass, admission to a half hour pre-show reception with Superchick, an autographed copy of Superchick's new CD "Rock What You Got" when it is released, an exclusive tour poster and a $2 discount on any Superchick merchandise purchased at the show.
