Speech may be free, but letters were worth money at Saturday's Scrabble tournament held at Elk Elementary Center in Crede. Sixty-one players from 13 states turned out for the National Scrabble Association-sanctioned contest. It's the third straight year that the association's

West Virginia chapter has hosted a tournament. Twelve rounds of competition culminate today in championship matchups, with winners taking home trophies and cash awards.
