CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Those attending the 51st West Virginia Symphony League Fashion Show on Nov. 10 will be contributing to two nonprofit organizations.

First, the annual style show is a main fundraiser for the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

Second, this year, $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the American Cancer Society to benefit breast cancer awareness.

Dozens of Kanawha Valley residents will showcase outfits from six Charleston stores at the annual event, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Maier Foundation Performance Hall in the Clay Center. A reception in the grand lobby will follow the fashion show.

Tickets are $30 and may be purchased from the participating stores, League members and at the door.

An outfit designed by Dennise Smith will be modeled and later auctioned. Smith is a former Charleston lawyer who is now practicing in California. She is a graduate of Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and was employed at St. John's Knits.

Steve Gallagher (aka The Dance Doctor) and Andrea Pennington will perform two dance routines during the show. Sets are designed by Tom Townsend.

For the second year, Tommie Sue Roberts will produce the fashion show, which will have some celebrities in its model lineup.

Sixteen-year-old Kayla Williams of Huntington, who recently won a gold medal for the vault at the world gymnastics championships in London, is one of the celebrity models.

Others are YWCA's 2009 Women of Achievement award winners Anita Casey and Callen McJunkin, Clay Center President and CEO Judi Wellington, Symphony Maestro Grant Cooper and three beauty queens: Miss West Virginia Talia Markham, Mrs. West Virginia Andrea Mitias and Mrs. West Virginia USA Gretchen Pingley.

Also modeling are Sandra Brannin, Sarah Burriss, Lisa Dobbins, Becky Graff, Jane Colby Jones, Minnie Jones, Jerri Kaufman, Shannon Lane, Cartney McCracken, Kitty Morgan, Vanessa Morrison, Melissa Pollack, Wendy Rubin, Angela Stone, Suzanne Summers, Gene Canter, Pierre Charbonniez, Jeb Corey, Al Emch, Dan Foster, Dennis Johnson, Jack Kane, Josh Lewis, Bart Morrison, Corey Palumbo, Art Rubin, Andy Teeter, Rabbi Victor Urecki, Michael Victorson and Danny Wells.

Child models are Kaitlyn Brannin, Maggie Mae Bouvette, Amaya Hale, Claire Mullen, Mills Mullen, Peyton Mullen, Amelia Nathanson, Charlotte Nathanson and Victoria Nathanson.

Stores providing outfits are Charlie LLC, Geranimums, Ivor's on Lee, Kelley's Men's Shop, Empire Furs and Yarid's Inc.

For the 10th year, Helen Lodge and Sallie McClaugherty are co-chairwomen of the fashion show.
