Library asks teens to 'Meme Yourself'

By Staff reports

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- You've laughed at memes and shared them among friends; now it's time for you to make your own with the Kanawha County Public Library Teen Services' "Meme Yourself!" contest, open through July 31.

To enter, simply use a meme creator website (like www.memegenerator.co, www.quickmeme.com and www.memecreator.org) and select an image provided there, or make your own meme featuring yourself, a friend, a pet or another image. Memes must not contain offensive pictures or inappropriate language.

Fill out and return a signed release form (available at www.kanawhalibrary.org or any KCPL branch) and email your meme, name and contact information to melissa.adkins@kanawhalibrary.org or drop off a copy in person to your local library. Entries will be displayed on the KCPL website for public voting Aug. 5 to 26. Winners will be announced Aug. 28. First place wins a $15 Game Stop gift card. Second place receives an anime tote bag.
