CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Episode 186 "Radio Free Charleston" is online now at blogs.wvgazette.com/popcult. It has music from "RFC" veterans QIET and Mother Nang, an animated tour of the newly-erected East End Main Street Streetworks signs and a preview of The Alban Arts Center's "The Princess of Rome, Ohio," which opens June 28.

QIET, which soon will be in the studio to record an album, performs two songs. Mother Nang, which first appeared on "RFC" Episode 8, was filmed performing an unplugged set. Both were recorded at The Empty Glass.

The animation takes a quick look at the East End Main Street-commissioned works by local artists that are displayed on lampposts in the East End. It includes a musical collaboration between Greg Wegmann and "RFC" host Rudy Panucci

"The Princess of Rome, Ohio," a backwoods romance by West Virginia native Jonathan Joy, runs June 28-30 and July 4-7 at The Alban. Tara Phares-Pauley directs and Megan Murphy Mace, Lisa Anderson Gandee, John Halstead, Johnny Halsted, Adam Bryan and Zoe Scarborough star.
